Dr. Mali Sher from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Technology Management at HIT received a grant from the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology for three years, together with Dr. Michael Dreyfus from the Jerusalem College of Technology (JCT). The grant amount is approximately half a million shekels.

The research topic: "Optimization of Resource Allocation for Road Safety and Infrastructure Maintenance". The goal is to develop models from the fields of operations research and decision-making for optimal resource allocation. The research is in collaboration with Netivei Israel and the National Road Safety Authority.

Dr. Mali Shar: "The resources allocated in Netivei Israel are in the areas of maintenance, road safety, and new projects. We need to develop a model that will maximize benefits, in accordance with existing budget resources."

These projects aim to reduce accidents through historical analysis and future predictions. The research team working on these projects includes experts in industrial engineering and management, transportation, and business management.
