A delegation of foreign ambassadors and diplomats visited HIT

A delegation of ambassadors and diplomats from different countries visited the exhibition of the industrial design and interior design graduates at the Faculty of Design.

The President of the Institute, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, welcomed the guests, some of whom had already visited the Institute, while for others it was their first visit, and noted that the Institute strongly encourages academic and non-academic collaborations with all countries that wish to do so.

HIT maintains many academic and research collaborations with academic institutions in over 35 countries worldwide and enables student exchanges and even completion of degrees at the Institute. "My vision - my dream is that everyone who comes to study with us will learn our Hebrew language," said Prof. Yakubov. "The Institute develops the issue of internationality according to the vision of the Council for Higher Education. I aim for 10-15% of our total students, i.e., 500 students every year, to be students from abroad studying here. They will be the ones who, after graduating, will become our ambassadors in their countries."

The guests toured the graduates' exhibitions and heard explanations about the exhibits from the Dean of the faculty, Prof. David Rawet, and the curators of the collections.

In addition, they heard about the Institute's activities from Ira Ivshin Guetta, International Programs and Partnerships Manager Research, Innovation and Internalization Authority, and from Toni Levy, director of foreign relations at the President's office. Prof. Anatoly Golberg, Head of the School of Mathematical Sciences, talked about the option of completing the first degree in Computer Science and Mathematics for students from abroad who come to HIT with previous background from academic institutions abroad to complete their degree at HIT.

The group toured the MADE laboratory, which provides innovative technological and design solutions for people with special needs, and the Living Lab, a laboratory for monitoring the behavior habits of older people to improve their quality of life.
