High-Tech Entrepreneur Ziv Aviram visits HIT


HIT honorary degree recipient Ziv Aviram, Mobileye co-founder and distinguished entrepreneur, pays a visit to   the Institute.

Aviram was given an overview of HIT's academic programs and research activities by the President, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, and set out his vision for sustainability. 

 

Ziv Aviram also shared his vision about the vital need to address the dire climate issues that threaten humanity and discussed a possible collaboration between HIT and the Aviram Foundation.

Ziv Aviram, the co-founder of Mobileye, served as President and CEO of the company from the day it was founded until it was sold to Intel; he was co-founder of OrCam, and, together with his children, founded the Aviram Foundation, which reflects the values of the family and promotes social projects for the benefit of humanity.

 

In 2021, the Foundation launched the "Aviram Awards," a competition for creative ideas and ventures which draw on technology and innovation for the betterment of society.  The competition is open to candidates throughout Israel and the Middle East.

 

As part of his agenda and business activity, Ziv Aviram understands the vital role of Israeli high-tech industry, and to this end, he consults and invests in dozens of start-up companies in medicine, transportation, artificial intelligence, and more. The criterion underpinning of his investments: their contribution to the betterment of humanity and the world in which we live.

 

During his brief time on campus, Ziv Aviram visited the LIVING LAB - a research and innovation laboratory in the form of a smart apartment fitted with multiple sensors which monitor the health of the elderly and serve as a vehicle for applied clinical research; and the MADE laboratory - a multidisciplinary laboratory engaged in the development and design of technological devices for people with special needs.


Mr. Aviram concluded the visit by noting his admiration for HIT’s important work and summed up the mutual interest to deepen the channels of collaboration. 


Ziv Aviram was bestowed an honorary degree from HIT in January 2023, for his efforts and innovative work as a "change-maker" in the Israeli high-tech industry, leading technological revolutions based on pioneering platforms of artificial intelligence at the forefront of science.
