During the day, the guests met with the institute's management and leading department heads, including Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT; Dr. Refael Barkan, Vice President for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Internationalization; Ms. Hadas Lorber, Head of the Institute for Applied Research in Responsible AI   and Prof. Oded Potcher, expert in climate and environment.

The participants were given an overview of innovative initiatives born at the institute, including a project dealing with digital medicine, and learned about the activities of the Institute for Applied Research in Responsible Artificial Intelligence.
During the tour, they were impressed by the diverse activities in the institute's laboratories, including LIVING LAB, XRH, MADE, and HEAL.

Prof. Eduard Yakubov noted in his remarks that "this visit emphasizes the importance of collaboration with companies like AWS, which operate from a value-based vision of promoting innovation and social impact. We share common values of commitment to technological excellence, education, and society, and we see this work as an opportunity to continue our collaboration for the benefit of students and the entire community."

According to Hadas Lorber, Head of the new Institute for Applied Research in Responsible AI, established at HIT, "We are living in an era of dramatic technological change, and artificial intelligence is at the heart of this revolution. However, alongside the tremendous opportunities it offers, complex ethical questions also arise. We are required to ensure that all aspects of responsible use - including privacy, bias, and risks - are considered. This is where the institute's role comes in, advancing research and practical solutions that will ensure responsible use of this technology. We see AWS not only as infrastructure leaders, but also as partners in this vision."
