Bulgarian Embassy Delegation Visited HIT -New Collaborations on the Horizon

A diplomatic delegation from the Bulgarian Embassy in Israel visited HIT Holon Institute of Technology, led by the Bulgarian Ambassador to Israel, Ms. Slavena Gergova.  The Ambassador was accompanied by Consul Ms. Svetlana Stamenova and First Secretary Mr. Yordan Dimitrov.

 


The delegation was received by the President HIT, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, CEO of the Institute, Mr. Shmuel Goldberg, as well as Ms. Antoanette Levy, Head of External Relations for the Balkans and Euro-Asia, and Ms. Ira Ivshin Guetta, International Partners and Programs Manager.


During the visit, the delegation received a comprehensive overview of the Institute, its leading fields of study and research, as well as the Institute's international collaborations. Prof. Yakubov welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of developing academic ties between HIT and universities and research institutions in Bulgaria: "HIT is committed to expanding our global collaborations, and connections with Bulgaria can serve as a significant bridge for advancing joint research in innovative fields such as digital medicine, engineering, and smart technologies," he said.


Bulgarian Ambassador Ms. Gergova was impressed by HIT's commitment to promoting innovation and international collaborations. "We see great importance in cooperation between higher education institutions in Bulgaria and Israel, especially in the fields of technology and science. This visit to the Institute allows us to explore avenues for academic and research collaborations that will lead to mutual successes," she said.


Following the main presentation, the delegation continued with a tour of the Institute's advanced laboratories specializing in digital medical technologies. During the tour, delegation members heard about innovative projects led by the Institute's researchers in these fields and the potential for advancing joint initiatives.


The Institute's CEO, Mr. Shmuel Goldberg, summarized the visit, noting that "HIT serves as a leading academic center connecting research, technology, and innovation. We view Bulgaria as an important partner for future development and are confident that this visit will lay the foundations for fruitful collaborations between our countries."


The visit was concluded with a summary of possibilities for continued strengthening of relations between HIT and academic institutions in Bulgaria, with the goal of establishing partnerships that will advance both parties in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
