SECOND WAVE CORONA – ONLINE CONFERENCE

"Corona - the second wave in Argentina, Israel and other countries: understanding, behavior and innovation" online Conference

A team of research specialists from HIT were invited to speak at the online international medical conference in Brazil, which is taking place over two intervals: November 16-17. and 23-24.11.20.

The conference was organized at the initiative of the School of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Senior government, academic and medical officials were invited to speak about the preparation and general organization of efforts to combat the second wave of the COVID-19, now sweeping the entire world once again. The conference was honored by the presence of Mr. Yossi A. Shelley, Israeli Ambassador to Brazil.
 

Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, was invited to open this conference on Nov 16th. Prof. He stated that he was proud to head an institution that creates the future, through innovative academic programs that are relevant and appropriate to the needs of industry, such as the new undergraduate program in Digital Medical Technologies. "This is a pioneering program, which aims to train the future generation of physicians, as well as the future generation of technology and data analysis experts”.
 

Among the honored speakers from HIT will speak Dr. Refael Barkan, Vice President of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Internationalization.  The initiator and the founder of the Digital Medical Technologies program, which is the only such program to exist, d, will lecture about the role of academia in promoting digital technologies in medicine, throughout and after the Corona crisis.

Dr. Naama Kopelman, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Science and the Department of Digital Medical Technologies, will speak about the spread of SARS-COVs in Israel based on complete genomic sequences. Dr. Kopelman recently won a significant grant for her work from the National Science Foundation.

The President of the HIT called for continued fruitful cooperation between academia and health organizations in Brazil, Argentina and other countries.
 

The conference was moderated by Dr. Silvana Kasinski, Head of the Telemedicine Group in the Spine Unit, Department of Orthopedics and Trauma at the Paulista School of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Prof. José Jardim, a specialist in respiratory diseases, at the Paulista Medical School at the University of Sao Paulo.
