Festive Graduation Week at HIT Holon Institute of Technology

Three graduation ceremonies took place last week on our campus.
1,142 graduates, of whom 186 are graduating Summa cum laude and Magna cum laude received their diplomas in a series of ceremonies.
For the first time after the challenging Covid-19 year, live and exciting graduation ceremonies took place in the open air on campus.
Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT congratulated the graduates on their continued achievements and said that HIT thanks the Council for Higher Education for their continuous support of the Institute and its development of innovative curricula and study programs.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2021, two graduation ceremonies took place: Undergraduates and graduates of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Technology Management and undergraduates and graduates of the Faculty of Design, both celebrated this special event.
Diplomas were awarded to 76 undergraduates and 103 graduates of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Technology Management, 32 of whom graduated Summa cum laude and Magna cum laude.
Diplomas were also awarded to 206 undergraduates and 12 graduates of the Faculty of Design, 24 of whom graduated Summa cum laude and Magna cum laude.
Graduates from both faculties marched in the traditional robes procession, led by the institute's President, Prof. Eduard Yakubov and academic staff, to the sounds of a musical band on the main stage and to the applause of excited family members and guests.
On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, a graduation ceremony was held for graduates of the Faculty of Sciences.
379 graduates of the Faculty of Science, 62 of them who graduated Summa cum laude and Magna cum laude, received their diplomas in a colorful ceremony held on campus.
360 graduates of the Department of Computer Sciences and 19 graduates of the Department of Applied Mathematics, marched in the traditional procession on campus, to the applause of the guests and faculty members.
Even the rain which surprised everybody in the middle, failed to ruin the general happiness and after a short break the ceremony resumed.
The Mayor of Holon, Mr. Moti Sasson, congratulated the graduates and said that story of HIT is intertwined with the history of the city of Holon and that the deep ties between both bodies is getting stronger each year.
Dr. Refael Barkan, Vice President for Entrepreneurship Innovation and Internationalization, congratulated the graduates and noted that not only has the Institute been able to establish groundbreaking study programs both on the national and the international levels, but that it has a duty to continue to constantly leverage innovation.
The Faculty of Sciences is the largest faculty of HIT and every year hundreds of highly sought-after graduates are being hired in major industry companies.

On Monday 11.10.2021 two ceremonies took place: Graduation ceremony for 271 undergraduates and 20 graduates of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
An additional graduation ceremony took place for 56 undergraduate students and 19 graduate students in the Faculty Instructional Technologies.
Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT said in his opening remarks: "HIT provides the labor market with about one third of the missing annual number of electrical engineers in Israel. He also said that it is a privilege to celebrate with both the oldest faculty of the institute - the faculty of electrical and electronics engineering, and the youngest faculty at the institute - the faculty of Instructional technologies, which shows that HIT never ceases to grow.
