The Ambassador of Germany in Israel visits HIT

 
The German Ambassador in Israel, Dr. Clemens von Goetze visited HIT for the first time. The Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of Labour and social affairs Mrs. Martina Wichmann-Bruche.
 
The guests were welcomed by Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, Dr. Refael Barkan Director of R&D and External Relations Authority and Dr. Guy Yoskovitz , Deputy Director of R&D and External Relations Authority.

Prof. Yakubov Presented HIT's history and multidisciplinary activities, stating that the strength of the State of Israel depends very much on its being a technological force and HIT's duty is to qualify engineers, scientists, technology managers and designers, as a national obligation.
Prof. Yakubov reviewed in the meeting the institute's activities and its vast network with the local industry and with leading technology companies as well as with leading academic and research institutions abroad.
 
Dr. Barkan presented the R&D and External Relations Authority and stated that HIT's researchers are receiving grants from prestigious funds and that HIT is proud of its multidisciplinary agenda both in teaching and in research. Creating research centers and labs enable HIT to invest in groundbreaking research and promote academic collaboration with similar institutions abroad.
 
Dr. Guy Yoskovitz presented the vast network that already exists  of academic and research collaborations between HIT and leading German academic and research institutions , mainly through programs such as HORIZON 20/20 and ERASMUS + ,which enable students and faculty members exchange.
 
 
The Ambassador was given a tour HIT's campus and visited the Robotics center, The Cyber Security lab and the library, where he saw an exhibition based on a course called "Symmetry and Fractals" where he was guided by Dr. Shai Gol from the faculty of Sciences.

At the end of the visit, the Ambassador said that he is convinced that there are many interesting ways of collaborating with HIT and that he is certain that the fruitful collaboration which already exists will continue to grow.
