HIT PROVIDE PRE-ACADEMIC STUDIES FOR FUTURE NURSES

 

The first class of students in the Pre-Academic Program for Nursing began at HIT today, in collaboration with the Wolfson Medical Center's School of Nursing.

 

 

The studies are carried out within the framework of HIT’s School for Certificate Studies, in preparation for nursing studies at the Wolfson Medical Center.

 

In the current cycle, over 90 male and female students, all from the Ethiopian community, study in two tracks of their choice: one day a week or twice a week in the evening, allowing maximum flexibility for them to continue working with minimal interruption.

Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, said in his greetings that HIT is committed to making higher education accessible to all sectors of Israeli society and that the Institute is proud to have one of the highest percentage of Ethiopian students among Israeli institutions of higher education.

 

The President addressed the new students and said that they should see the Institute as a home. "We are aiming to have many more students from the Ethiopian community and we are committed to supporting them during their studies, until graduation and employment in the economy”.

Mr. Israel Ochanov, Head of the School for Certificatei Studies, added that: "We are proud to work with the Wolfson Medical Center on such an important project, which we know will help change the socio-economic face of Israeli society”.

 

Dr. Sarah Nissim, Principal of the Academic School of Nursing at Wolfson Hospital, stated: “Cooperation with HIT is natural, due to the close geographic location and the other wonderful collaborations that the Wolfson Medical Center maintains with HIT".
