Work Experience

1992–present– Founder and CEO of The Institute for Industrial Mathematics
In 1992, the Institute for Industrial Mathematics has been established based on 15 top scientists, new immigrants to Israel from the former Soviet Union, aiming at harnessing Mathematics to provide solutions to industrial plants and commercial organizations. The institute has performed dozens of projects for diverse industrial sectors, and managed to solve many complex problems through advanced mathematical models and techniques.


2010–present– CTO, Liola
Responsible for the overall percipience of manufacturing analysis and optimization promoted by Liola, as well as the basic design and shaping of the algorithms underlying its products. Has established the three-level conceptual approach to manufacturing enhancement together with the corresponding decision-support tools: demand-supply planning, production-line sensitivity analysis, shift optimization.


1975–1987– Academy
Responsibilities & Achievements:

  • Served as staff member at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at Tel-Aviv University.
  • Taught a large variety of courses in applied mathematics, operations research and computer science.
  • Established the operations Research Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
  • Served as Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.
  • Served as Visiting Professor at the University of Delaware, Newark, DE.
  • Authored numerous scientific papers and technical reports.

1972–2001– Senior Analyst, Rafael – Armament Development Authority
Responsibilities and Achievements:

  • Co-founded the Center for Military Analyses, a leading research group for the whole Israeli defense community.
  • Served as Head of the Center.
  • Conducted dozens of research projects and authored numerous technical reports.
  • Initiated and established three new professional areas within the Center.
  • Was appointed "Rafael Fellow”, a position held by about ten scientists in Rafael

1972–2001– Lt. Colonel (res), Israeli Airforce
Responsibilities and Achievements:

  • Co-founded the Operations Research department of the Israeli air force and contributed significantly to the decision-making processes of the force in the operational and logistic fields.
  • Considered one of the pioneers of military operations research in Israel, and has influenced generations of researchers.




Honors

1993 – 1997 – Served as President of the Operations Research Society of Israel and represented it in numerous international events. Hosted the 1995 international EURO-14 Conference on Operations Research in Jerusalem
