An applied/industrial mathematician focusing on modelling, algorithms developments and simulations of real-world problems and applications such as image processing, cancer therapy treatment planning and more.

Aviv is invited to give talks in many international conferences, he is organizing workshops as well as serving as an associate editor in high-ranked scientific journals.

As a lecturer he was awarded for his excellence in delivering courses for undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Haifa, The Technion and Braude.
