The network is a non-profit organization that aims to promote and support user-oriented innovation in real environments, with the participation of the local community and relevant parties (academia, industry, social organizations, etc.).
In preparation for joining the network, the lab changed its name and branded itself as HIT LAB- Homecare Innovation Technologies LAB- a "Smart Home" laboratory that includes advanced technologies with research and development tools for monitoring, diagnosing, treating, and tracking the behavior of people at home, including home patients.
Being a member of the ENOLL is important, from a research point of view, and contributes greatly to the promotion of Holon Institute of Technology and the Department of Digital Medical Technologies and its research in the international arena. This membership allows the lab to be part of a global network of living laboratories, to participate in joint projects, to share knowledge and experience, and to affect the EU policy on innovation and technology.
“This is a significant achievement for HIT in the international arena,” says Dr. Refael Barkan, Vice President for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Internationalization at HIT. “This is a global network of innovative laboratories, and an association whose entry into it is prestigious and testifies more than anything to the high level of applied research and the network of collaborations of a Homecare Innovation Technologies LAB”.
The laboratory collaborates with local hospitals, health funds, social organizations, and start-up companies, and enables technology-based clinical research in at-home conditions as well as the opportunity to take part in more innovative and fascinating technological projects.
