International Workshop Convened Under European Union Auspices
Faculty and Students participate in Deep-Tech Camp at Wrocław, Poland.
Researchers from HIT Holon Institute of Technology headed a delegation of academic staff and students to the Deep-Tech Camp workshop hosted by the prestigious Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) in Poland.
Dr. Dan Kohen-Vacs, Head of the B.A. Program at the Faculty of Instructional Technologies, in collaboration with Dr. Michael Vinokur, a distinguished lecturer from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Technology Management. Their efforts culminated in a diverse assemblage of seven HIT students and 20 international participants from Poland, France, and Italy.
This symposium marked the outcome of the EIT DEETECHTIVE project, a European Union initiative, and served as a nexus for transdisciplinary and multinational cooperation. Participants engaged in conceptualizing and developing cutting-edge technological paradigms aimed at advancing sustainable energy solutions. This collaborative endeavor fostered knowledge exchange and fortified international relations among the participating nations.
The workshop's success was predicated on a notable achievement from the previous year, wherein three eminent HIT researchers secured a substantial grant of 750,000 euros from the EIT HEI Initiative. This funding facilitated the inception of DEETECHTIVE, an academic-social venture in partnership with esteemed European Union institutions. The project's cornerstone is the creation of a global virtual ecosystem encompassing an array of educational modalities such as training sessions, seminars, and courses.
This initiative is designed to equip students for integration into the Deep Tech sector, bridging the divide between academia, industry, and experiential learning.
The triumvirate of researchers—Dr. Kohen-Vacs, Dr. Vinokur, and Prof. Arriel Benis, who heads the Department of Digital Medical Technologies, bring a wealth of diverse expertise to the project. Their collective knowledge spans multiple disciplines, embodying HIT's hallmark approach of combining theoretical rigor with practical application, instilling confidence in the project's leadership.
The culminating ceremony was graced by dignitaries from the host university's administration, who lauded the indispensable contributions of HIT's principal researchers. They emphasized the workshop's pivotal role in bringing the EIT DEETECHTIVE project to a successful conclusion, underscoring the integral involvement of the audience from the academic and research community, European Union institutions, and stakeholders in the Deep Tech sector.
