HIT Instructional Technology Grads Taking the Job Market by Storm

Recent study reveals that 80% of Instructional Technologies' graduates in Israel are HIT graduates.

This and more came to light at the 9th conference of the Faculty of Instructional Technologies, with 500 participants attending over the course of two days.

During the conference, awards were presented to companies and organizations, some of the largest in Israel, for their original and groundbreaking digital instructional systems.
Myths about learning, interactive technology, visual and digital storytelling, were just some of the topics covered in the Conference's lectures.

The prominent guest lecture opening the Conference was from Nuseir Yassin, aka Nas Daily’. His short tutorial videos garner tens of billions of views. Nuseir shared insights into his daily documentation journey around the world.

The highlight of the Conference was an award-winning competition in which 21 of Israel’s largest companies and organizations participated. Ten projects advanced to the finals, and among them, the judges selected two companies that won the title of Audience Favorites.

The gold medal went to Magen David Adom’s innovative visual reality learning system. The project: a Life-Saving Therapy Training Technology called MICU, an innovative platform for learning emergency medicine through VR goggles, or through apps. The development and implementation team was led by Snir Feinstein, the center of the MDA's online training unit and a sophomore at the HIT’s Faculty of Instructional Technologies.

Snir Feinstein: "I was privileged to close the circle, both as an Instructional Technologies student at HIT and at the Magen David Adom Online Training Unit. Our goal is to make emergency medicine studies at the paramedic level accessible for MDA intensive care volunteers. Technology allows participants to practice life-saving scenarios and experiences The gaming-style platform makes the learning fun, interesting, fast and challenging."

MDA said that the MICU has changed the paradigm in training emergency medical teams. The practitioners are required to practice more, train independently and finally, also receive constructive feedback on their simulated performance.”
The Silver medal went to the high-tech company 'Zero-Flyer' for their Onboarding to Hero Absorption Program (Maayan Shalom); and the Bronze went to 'Capsule' company – Adventurous Organizational Development (Adi Livna and Yoni Chai) , which made the virtual escape room Corobug a tool for incorporating their organizational leadership model into digital learning.

HIT's President Prof. Eduard Yakubov reaffirmed the rising importance of Instructional Technologies. “Companies and organizations have turned the Corona crisis into an opportunity, and accelerated and enhanced their technological learning and training processes. This is critical to a company’s profitability, efficiency in absorbing new employees, retaining employees and developing corporate pride. Our greatest pride, however, are the graduates, undergraduates and Masters students from HIT’s Faculty of Instructional Technologies, who are helping to lead these processes. These students undergo not only a most rigorous academic program, but also professional skill development so highly valued in the workplace.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Instructional Technologies, Prof. Gila Kurtz, emphasized the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the acute need to incorporate learning technologies in the corporate world. Dr. Eran Gal, Conference Chair and Head of the Master's Degree Department in the Faculty remarked on the purpose of the conference: " to promote the field of digital learning in Israel, and to further strengthen Israel’s leading position in field.“

For the digital learning competition, many instructional technology projects already implemented by many companies and organizations were submitted . The twenty one participants included Isracard, the Civil Service Commission, Migdal, Maccabi HMO, Tnuva, Tel Aviv University, the Joint (Eshel), Israel Railways, AppsFlyer and more.
