Uzbek-Israel science conference in “Contemporary Problems in Mathematics and Physics”

October 06-10, 2017 Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The conference held in October 06-10, 2017 in Tashkent, with participation of National University of Uzbekistan NUUz and HIT Holon Institute of Technology. The conference was attend of more them hundred scientists from Israel, Russia, Kazakhstan Mexico, Japan and Uzbekistan.

Minister of Higher Education and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Inomjon Madjidov, Israel Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Uzbekistan, Mr. Eduard Shapiro, Rector NUUz, Avazjon Marakhimov, President of HIT Holon Institute of technology, prof. Eduard Yakubov, attended the opening ceremony of the Conference.

During the conference, held meetings among Rector NUUz, Avazjon Marakhimov, Israel Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Uzbekistan, Mr. Eduard Shapiro, and President of HIT Holon Institute of technology, prof. Eduard Yakubov.  They discussed issues of cooperation and outlined a plan for further action. After that, A. Marakhimov invited E. Shapiro and E. Yakubov to the Center for High Technologies, where the guests could be acquainted with modern equipment and achievements of scientists of the center.

During October 6-10, 11 plenary and more than 100 sectional reports were presented in 6 sections. In addition to reports on mathematics and applied mathematics, there were papers on physics, medicine and biology. All disputable problems as a result of the conference are published in the collection of abstracts book.

During the conference, the participants were acquainted with the laboratories of the Educational and Experimental Center for High Technologies with modern scientific equipment. During the visit, the participants noted that the equipment available in the Center are modern and meet all the requirements for scientific research in the field of physics, chemistry and biology.

In addition, some of the guests were on a one-day excursion in Samarkand.
The conference was very useful for scientists of the two countries.

First of all, fundamental mathematics is very developed in Israel and Uzbekistan, especially in NUUz. Guests and mathematicians of our Republic exchanged the latest world achievements in this field.

During the reports and individual meetings, they discussed the results obtained, in the field of collaboration and applied research, on line courses, research and innovation priorities, established start-ups, organized trainings and events, enchained students, publication of joint works in authoritative European journals, etc.

Secondly, applied science been especially well developed in the in HIT: in physics - reduction of Reducing friction in Mechanical Engineering and in connection to the bones of a human body, using nanoparticles as well, tomographic medicine measurement and geological prospecting, agricultural zoning, development of the taken into account for the choice of optimal variant of farmland.

In addition, the development of robotics, navigation technology and computer programs is very advanced in HIT. In particular, great research is being carried out in the field of information security. The heads of the two universities agreed to conduct joint scientific research in these areas.

Third, we note that one of the noteworthy methods of organising applied sciences in Israel is the numerous scientific groups created by 3-6 young talented specialists performing a certain economic development, for example, using nanoparticles to reduce the friction of the crankshaft in engine manufacturing, improving the quality of lubricating oils, development and improvement of tomographic mechanisms, effective use of water resources in agriculture, etc.
Traditionally, in many universities there is a process of commercialization of science and there are special marketing departments for the realization and sale of scientific research.

In Israel, creative groups engaged in scientific development are strongly encouraged, funded and part of the proceeds from the sale of developments are allocated to developers in the form of premiums.

The reports of Professor HIT Lion Rapoport "Friction and wear of solid lubricant with nanoparticles", Professor Mark Agranovsky of the Bar-Ilan University "Mathematics of hybrid tomography", Professor HIT Alla Zak "Anorganic nanotubes and their synthesis, properties and applications”, received great interest of the conference participants. In these reports, were given ways for direct application of the results obtained in the national economy of Uzbekistan.

A group of scientists led by HIT president prof. Eduard Yakubov met with the heads of some enterprises, firms and with scientific research teams of universities. We agreed on further close contacts in the field of applied sciences. The National University of Uzbekistan and the Holon Institute of Technology agreed on the exchange of scientists in the areas of computer technology and radio physics; to establish together the Navigation Center in the NUUz and the Scientific Center for the Lands Regionalization.

It should also be noted, that a number of young talented undergraduates of NUUz had conversations with well-known Israeli professors and agreed to continue their studies at Israeli universities, which is very important for Uzbekistan for the creation of highly qualified specialists.

We can conclude that the conference held in a very high level and attended by famous scientists, leading professors of scientific centers. The presented reports aroused great interest and will be useful for the future work of scientists, doctoral students, undergraduates. The conference participants decided to continue this event as traditional and hold the next Uzbek-Israeli conference in Israel.

The work of the conference with photo images was daily reflected on the conference website cpmp.nuu.uz and on the university website. In addition, the work of the conference was reflected in the Media. The conference was broadcasting at the new 24-hour news television channel with a new format “Uzbekistan 24”, MY5, Yoshlar and Yoshlar radio stations.
