Upon their departure back to Uzbekistan, Prof. Marakhimov Avaz NUUz's Rector, said that the entire delegation had a wonderful experience in Israel and that the hospitality of HIT was outstanding. "I was amazed at the fast pace everything is going. It seems that it had been only a while ago when I've met Prof. Yakubov and already we're engaged in an ongoing collaboration and plans for the future. I'm glad to see that we both have the same interests and a great desire to work together.

My colleagues and I were deeply impressed by HIT in particular and Israel's higher education system in general. The Israeli people were warm and friendly to us and I immediately felt at home here. I have noticed that there are many resemblances between the Israeli and Uzbek nations. We share the same social and family values and I think that science is the right way to get our two nations close together.

At a certain moment, while visiting Jerusalem, we were in 3 different places –the western Wall, The Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and then we all got back together and felt close like brothers.
I encourage the academic collaboration between HIT and NUUz which will start with students and academic staff exchange programs and I feel that we were the bridge for this major step."
