The 8th National Hackathon, sponsored by the Ira Foundation for the Advancement of Business, Technology, and Society, opened on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at HIT's Faculty of Industrial Engineering & Technology Management, bringing with it a vast scope of innovation, creativity, and action.

On March 23rd, the cornerstone for the new Helmsley Medical Technologies Building was laid on campus, in the presence of Mr. Sandor Frankel, Trustee of the Helmsley Charitable Trust, his actively engaged wife Ruth Frankel and the leadership of HIT.

A diplomatic delegation from the Bulgarian Embassy in Israel visited HIT Holon Institute of Technology, led by the Bulgarian Ambassador to Israel, Ms. Slavena Gergova.  The Ambassador was accompanied by Consul Ms. Svetlana Stamenova and First Secretary Mr. Yordan Dimitrov.

The International Workshop Week at the Faculty of Design at HIT - Holon Institute of Technology has successfully concluded, providing students with a unique learning and creative experience alongside leading designers and artists from around the world. This year's event theme was "The Elephant in the Room" and sparked innovative discourse on topics that are sometimes marginalized in mainstream design conversations.

HIT Holon Institute of Technology hosted an official delegation from the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Dayton, Ohio. The visit was part of the Council's efforts to deepen international connections between the Dayton Jewish community and leading academic institutions in Israel, as well as to promote collaborations in innovation, education, and technology.

HIT Holon Institute of Technology received a special certificate of recognition from Rotary International alongside other leading academic institutions in Israel.

The students Assaf Shaked and Niv Cohen from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering published, under the guidance of Prof. Yakov Gavan, a review article on space debris in the journal 'Electricity and Energy'

Professor Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT - Holon Institute of Technology, was awarded the 2025 Jerusalem Prize by the Minister of Education Mr. Yoav Kisch, at the 22nd Jerusalem Conference of the B'Sheva Group, held on February 24, 2025. 

Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) in Ethiopia. The MOU outlines collaboration in scientific research, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its implementation in teaching and learning. It also covers knowledge exchange and collaboration in the field of nanotechnology, as well as student and academic staff exchanges.

Mathematician Dr. Vladimir Nodelman, a lecturer at HIT's School of Computer Science, recently published a new book titled 'Mathematical Studies Through Technology' with the prestigious Scientific World publishing house.
